UPDATED SUNDAY, 28 JUNE 2009 HAPPY FOURTH OF JULYBELOW IS THE INFORMATION ON THE UNIQUE SOAP BOUTIQUE LOCATION AND HOURS OVER THE GENERAL HOSPITAL WEEKEND AT THE AIRTEL PLAZA HOTEL:The UNIQUE SOAP BOUTIQUE WILL BE LOCATED IN SUITE 180 IN THE MAIN PORTION OF THE HOTEL, NEXT TO THE SWIMMING POOL AREA. There will be no "sliding door entrance", you will need to enter through the Hotel Room Door, but it is an absolutely lovely Hospitality Suite and looks out on the pool on one side and the airport/runway/jet parking on the other, and that is fun! As of now, the Boutique will open on Thursday, 16 July at 2:00p.m. and close very late - after the Kick-Off Party and Becky's Party- in order to give everyone a chance to shop. We will be open on Friday from 11:00a.m. until????????? - I will decide on the closing hours shortly. Saturday and Sunday, we are planning to "close shop" and move to the Hollywood Show. So, right now, the Unique Soap Boutique will only be open on Thursday and Friday, that is why I have extended the hours until late in the nite - and most all of you stay up late anyway, now you have something else to do!!! OK, I have a Rant - about every daytime soap - if you are a pregnant lady, please, whatever you do, don't go anywhere near a staircase during your pregnancy!!! If you live in a home with stairs, move out until you have the baby!!!! Seiously, everyone, have you ever seen so many pregnant women falling down the stairs and maybe/maybe not having a miscarriage? Carly should not ever go near stairs the number of times she has fallen! Many thanks to all of you who came by the Unique Soap Boutique over the Days Of Our Lives Weekend and supported not only the Boutique, but the various charities and events that were held. I sincerely appreciate your loyality. The Basketball Game was, as always, wonderful with many of the actors participating - however, it may have been the last one! If you want James Reynolds to keep this a tradition from year to year, let him know how much you appreciate all of his efforts and how much you love the event! The attendance was way down this year - for many economic reasons - but the attendance was down for every event, so, support DAYS OF OUR LIVES! I was not able to go to the Stephen & Mary Beth event since I was working at the Boutique, but I heard nothing but positive comments about it, and that they might be willing to do this again next year, which would be great! The DaysCharityEvents party on Saturday nite was really a pleasure to attend - many, many of the actors came, and it was an opportunity to visit with them on a one on one basis, not behind autograph tables - just mingling - a great idea past its' time! Ok, so the DOOL Weekend is over for another year - there will be the event in November - will have information on that soon, and of course, the DayTime Emmy Weekend in August, so maybe we will do something then. BIG NEWS #1:RICK SPRINGFIELD LOVERS ATTENTION!!! - Rick will be in concert at the Kern County Fair in Bakersfield, California on Tuesday, 29 September 2009. And get this: it is a FREE CONCERT! the only cost is your general admission to the Fair which is $8 per person. The fair gates open at 3:00p.m. and the concert begins at 8:00p.m. in the Budweiser Pavilion which is an outdoor theatre with no reserved seating - open seating only - so first come, first serve! BIG NEWS #2: Well, big news for the Unique Soap Boutique! The Boutique will be open over the General Hospital Weekend on Thursday and Friday - times and location to be announced shortly - but on Saturday and Sunday we are moving the Boutique to the Burbank Marriott Hotel for the Hollywood Show (formerly known as the Hollywood Collectors Show)! They have a terrific line up of actors scheduled, so in between GH events you should try to get over. To get complete information on the actors scheduled to appear go to www.hollywoodshow.com but I can tell you that some of the scheduled actors are Rosanna Arquette, Shelley Hack, Erika Eleniak, Alan Young, Sid & Marty Kroft, Kathy Najimy, Kristy Swanson, Tommy Kirk(!), Ed "Kookie" Byrnes, and Bruce Weitz (Anthony Zacharra from GH), and about 60 more!!! Most of you already know that the General Hospital Weekend will no longer be held at the Sportsmen's because the banquet facilities will not be available. The General Hospital Weekend will be held at the AIRTEL PLAZA HOTEL at the Van Nuys Airport - 7277 Valjean Avenue, Van Nuys, California 91406. I have been very blessed to get to know many of you over these past years.
